Quick report from the Haughton

Just a very quick report today. Yesterday morning Dad and I had a short session luring the Haughton. We left early and were back by lunchtime.

We concentrated very heavily on the 3in prongs and searched out some new areas we haven't fished before. Water was very clear in the neaping tides and the run was ideal for the lightly weighted lures. I manage a few Jacks for the morning, but the best was about 38cm. Dad landed a rat Barra about 55cm long that put a smile on his face for the morning. I was also rolled by a much bigger fish that didn't hook up.

Water temp was only 21 for most of the morning, not reaching 22 until we were pulling out at lunch time. So we are heading back today for an afternoon session in the warmer water. Report for that will follow!
