Blue Salmon on Hard Vibes

Took the family for a run across to the Weedbeds again today. Still hoping these Mackerel will eventually show up in the shallow water! We put in at sunrise and had a beautiful WOT run over to the front of Alligator Creek. Out the lures went and we proceeded to troll toward the Cape. But again the only fish we managed were a handful of Grinner. I'm not sure if anyone else has been having success in the shallow waters, but I'm yet to get a fish there this year!

It was way to rough off the Cape so we ducked back into the mouth of one of the creeks for the top of the tide. I hit the 'spot-lock' on the iPilot over a deep hole in the channel and it didn't take more than a handfull of casts before the fish started hitting the lures one after the other. In a very short little session we boated over half a dozen nice size Blue Salmon. Lachy, Sebastian and Tania all got in on the action, which is good to see. Most fish fell to the Quickcatch Hard Vibe. The lure is simply flicked a short distance up-current of the drop-off into the hole. Its then allowed to sink before being worked just off the bottom. These Hard Vibes have a very strong vibration that can be felt right through the line. The fish just love em!

We headed home about 12 with plans of a second run tomorrow morning. This time we might hit the Channel markers or West Point with metal slices.
